Build Instead of Talk

A reminder that our hands are always at the ready.

Paint what you love.

A reminder that what looks like play,
probably is.
It is a happy talent to know how to play.Ralph Waldo Emerson
I spotted this van months ago as I exited the freeway.

Finally I caught it at the grocery store.

Play Art

Art by Mason

"It's not what you look at that matters,
it's what you see."
Henry David Thoreau

...an ode to the importance of daily walks
along similar avenues where we grew up

is something so simple and yet so renewing.

Why are some of us forever fascinated by buildings?

"Architecture is how the person places herself in the space.
Fashion is about how you place the object on the person."
Zaha Hadid

"Real silence is silence without words,
silence that speak words in silence
and silence that talks better than words."
Ernest Agyemang Yeboah

Too many shops are falling into ruin.

"It's the little details that are vital.
Little things make big things happen."
John Wooden

Open your box of blessings
and take out something to smile about.
Next take something out and give it away.

Pull up a chair. Take a taste.

Come join us. Life is so endlessly delicious.
Ruth Reichl

"When you do more than you learn
you leave a distinctive notable footprint on earth."
E. A. Yeboah

If you stumble across a gem, be sure to capture it,
before it too disappears, as they often do.

The ode to everyday life
begins and ends with people.
and kindness, tenderness,
laughter and generosity shared
 sings sweetly.

The mind I love must have wild places,
a tangled orchard where dark damsons drop in
the heavy grass,
an overgrown little wood
a pool that nobody's fathomed
the depth of
and paths threaded
with flowers planted by the mind.
Katherine Mansfield

Thanks for stopping by,

The Sandwich Project

One of the best parts of where I work is the many opportunities they offer so we can make a difference in the world or someone's life.

All in a good day's work, feeding those less fortunate with
"The sandwich project, make a difference."

"There is no exercise better for the heart
than reaching down and lifting people up."

Degree of Forward

Good morning and welcome.

MOVE FORWARD ANYWAY

Sometimes, it feels good to just sing it out!

Downtown Minneapolis

I bet you all know of places
where abandoned architecture waits to be seen again,
with new eyes.

Just because we stumbled upon some hurdles,
big or small
it doesn't mean that time will stop
and wait for us, it won't.
We have to keep moving forward no matter what."
Kcat Yarza

I always love seeing fresh young minds/faces
all ready to conquer the world!

Just for fun-

from the funny side of life-

Johnson and Hanks for 2020!
Yep, I believe I'm in, how about you?

Reach for the stars,
no matter how far away
 you believe them to be.
Anything is possible.
Dream it.
Do it.
Conquer it all!

The Lady in White

Welcome!

Emmie was ecstatic,
sharing the day with us at the lake for Mother's Day!
I hope you all had a marvelous day.

I begin this week's posts about a favorite poet of mine.
Emily Dickinson

I wonder if she ever came to Minnesota in person?

Don't let talk of Minnesota being the frozen
tundra of the United States fool you. Why?

Emily Dickinson often called the lady in white
died on May 15th 1886, at the early age of 55.
She may have lived most of her short life
 in reclusive isolation,
but I promise reading her words
offers such empowerment.
I'm sharing a few
of her quotes today,
along with a few recent photos of mine.

My life away from the headlines of day.
This is not fake news.

Live streaming is a good thing,
 like bringing Lyra's concert
 live all the way
from Alabama to Minnesota!

"The soul should always stand ajar,
ready to welcome the ecstatic experience."
Emily Dickinson

"Not knowing when the dawn will come
I open every door."

"To live is so startling
it leaves little time for anything else."

Never sit too long.
Journey on.

"Forever is composed of nows."

Okay this photo is from a few years ago,
but what's happening in this photo really speaks to Emily's quote.
Little Danny running about soaking up life, is a priceless moment."

"Saying nothing, sometimes says the most."
We are what we do.

Recognize these pillars?

It's a springtime view, of my blog header photo.

"I dwell in possibility."

Okay, seeing snow you know this wasn't from this week, but it's one of our last snow falls not long ago.
Meet Viper, a new neighbor that couldn't wait to come say hello!

"Dogs are better than human beings
because they know but do not tell."

Well since I brought in snow how about one of my favorite photos of this year because again it's so fitting with one of Emily's quotes.

Hurry snap my picture, because next week,
(I kid you not) the temperatures hit the 70's!

"We turn not older with years
but newer every day."

and sometimes we simply melt away....!
quoted the snowman before he took leave.

"I am out with lanterns, looking for myself."
and what did I find?

A whole bunch of faces that I really, truly love!
Here are just 4 faces smiling for my camera!

"Till I loved
I never lived."

Thanks for stopping by,
enjoy your week and always
take good (best/better/tremendous
care of you.

Critters at Every Turn

Welcome to
on Saturday

"It's better to be a lion for a day
than a sheep all your entire life."
Elizabeth Kenny

I'd be lying to you if I didn't say,
Lions, and laughter are the music of the soul.

Welcome everyone!

Just a selfie with Dashiell!
Happy Mother's day tomorrow
for all the critter Mommies out there.

Hurry up Mom take my picture!

Sometimes you just never know who
may be hiding, in or among the bushes!

"He who angers you conquers you."
EK

"You got to look on the bright side, even if there ain't one."
Dashiell Hammett

"Sometimes, reaching out and taking someone's hand is the beginning of a journey.
At other times, it is allowing another to take yours."
Vera Nazarian

"Isn't everyone a part of everyone else?"
Budd Shulberg

Just a funny capture (many of you have seen this before)
my children dressed as characters from Scooby-Doo
for Halloween.
